We are a family of six that loves to get out there and enjoy the outdoors. Our family consists of two bloggers (Jay & Kay), as well as our 3 kids (who live with us on and off again throughout the year), and our bullmastiff puppy, Anubis. We have noticed how difficult it is to find detailed review of places to camp, hike, and fish. While we are not experts at any of the above, we certainly enjoy the to the fullest extent of our physical capabilities. We hope you'll use our blog to help plan where you and your family would like to explore the outdoors next, as well as just share in our adventures and love of the wilderness!

Lathrop State Park: March 2012

On a trip down to pick up the junior campers for their Spring Break, we spent two nights at Lathrop State Park. I highly reccommend this park to anyone passing through with a family. Weather was much nicer this year than it has been in years past in March. Restrooms and campsites are very well kept. There is a playground for the kiddos, and a more nature-oriented version if you prefer to let your kids be kind of rugged. Lots of good rocks for climbing on behind the amphitheater. Ranger also told us they are developing a Junior Ranger Program.

So I would like to appologize to those of you that have been viewing our blog. The winter months have finally passed, and this blogger is coming out of hibernation! We have quite a few plans for camping this summer, including our 10-day excursion to Yellowstone in June. Keep an eye open, and check back often.
